Lalibela: the town is very small, situated in stunning mountains, and boasts the famous rock-hewn churches of Lalibela. Picture a flat stone area on a mountain. Then imagine a trench dug into the stone. Then imagine a multi-story church carved into the remaining stone. Add to that the small-town feel, the views, etc and you have an experience of a lifetime.

Try spending a day or so exploring the main churches in town and then hiring a donkey for a day trip up the mountain to see the additional churches and the views up there.
